Creating: A Family Affair

Aaahh...this picture says it all, doesn't it?
These people, these relationships...

This right here is why I wear silk to play in.
Why I never save a compliment for tomorrow.
Why I find so many reasons to smile in a day.

My eighteen-year-old brother died when I was twenty, and it didn't take me very long to figure I could never again be the girl who saves anything for special occasions.
Just being alive, knowing these awesome little people, and loving my husband with crazy abandon IS the special occasion.

I carry your heart with me.
I carry it in my heart.
I am never without it.
Wherever I go, you go, my dear...
I fear no fate, for you are
my fate, my sweet.
I want no world, for beautiful,
you are my world, my true.
Here is the deepest secret
no one knows...
which grows higher than a soul can hope
or mind can hide.
It's the wonder that's keeping the stars apart--
I carry your heart.
I carry it in my heart.

  6. Thank you so much for sharing this touching and inspiring outlook on life, Kristina. I tend to focus on the negative and all the "what-ifs", which makes it too easy for me to forget to prioritize the people and relationships that matter the most. Thank you again for a lovely reminder to keep everything in perspective.

  13. aww...that really breaks my heart as i only have a younger brother as well :'( i don't know what i would do if anything happened to him (he is 21)...
while i was in high school i had 7 friends pass away and another one recently...
i remember one of the moms who had recently lost a son saying you don't realize how strong you can be or the beautiful things you discover in life until something like this happens to you and everything happens for a good reason...
i thought about this often and even though i have a strong faith and confidence in God and his son who died for us, eternal life, and heaven it still breaks my heart when a tragedy like that happens
i'm soo sorry about your brother and your family's loss but can tell you are a strong woman :)
thanks for feeling free to share your heart with us Kristina, hope you and your family have a great evening
    ♥Meg
