Wearing: Shine Through

Friday, December 3, 2010

I'm trying to appreciate the temporary condition of today. For one beautiful moment, my world became a winter wonderland, then today, nothing...just brown, gray earth.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back in time, back to the pretty, snowy days in my life...
before hurt ever touched my heart, before doubt ever entered my mind.

But I know I can't go back to those days.
I can't erase the mistakes or take away the questions you might have about me...I can't always let myself be kept in turmoil at being misunderstood, stumbling every which way I turn.

I have to keep walking, learning, growing...
because as some anonymous person said,

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--Wow, what a ride!"

(Anthro Ha'penny cardi, Shine Through button up, Circle the Globe skirt, Target stud belt, Mia booties, Orla Kiely print bag)

  1. I love this! It's laid back but chic and the bag is like a playful little wink:)

What a fantastic quote about life. Lately I've been telling myself that perfection is overrated. I'm always attracted to things that are a bit worn, nicked, bruised, tarnished...with a story to tell. I want to have a glorious, messy, heartfelt story to tell:D

    Have a fantastic day love!

  12. Kristina, you look lovely as usual! I love how you styled these three items (the Ha'penny, the Circle the Globe, and the Shine Through Button-Up) - you're too adorable for words. And I can't wait to see how you wear the Dog Trot cardi! Haha, I thought I was the only person nutty enough to love that sweater. ;)

  15. You are always dressed to the nine's, I tell ya! I love it! (almost bordering on an "I hate you" mentality because you are so darned stylish...although, I don't hate you...you're fabulous, really.) I must have those boots....

  16. I recognize the print of your purse from a few items at Charming Charlies - any chance it was from there? New to the name "Orla Kiely" but adore the bag!!

  17. This post is a special form of torture, as I keep telling myself I do not need suede heeled ankle booties, and I do not need Orla Kiely anything. But now I just might need them again.

You look just beautiful, and the background is lovely.
