In the 1968 Olympic Games, John Stephen Ahkwari was the favorite to win the 26 mile Marathon. Very early in the race, he injured his leg but pushed to the end.  When he finally hobbled across the finish line in last place, the Tanzanian runner was asked why he endured the pain knowing he had no chance of winning.
He replied, "My country did not send me 7,000 miles to start a race, they sent me 7,000 miles to finish it."
Whatever you're facing this week...don't quit.
Finish well.

  1. What an inspiring story! I should use it for my students to keep them motivated. Also I'm completely and utterly in love with your skirt! The striped top is also so cute on you!

  5. Such an inspiring story! Several big deadlines are looming over me this week, and your post was just what I needed to put me in the right mindset as I head to work.

And I must share how much I love this outfit!!! I have the same skirt and a very similar sweater, so I think I'll have to try to recreate this look.

  9. You have such an amazing sense of style. Your proportions, layering, colors, and pattern mixing are always spot on. Not to mention you have a crazy-enviable ability to sew. And, I love how you have kept your blog while staying out of the mess and following partial disbanding of the Anthro community after that debacle many weeks ago. Love your blog and so happy your still here!
