Spring '12 Collection: Shimmer Dune

Shimmer Dune Dress

Some of my favorite family vacations involved riding dune buggies across the rolling slopes of sand dunes...where there is nothing but the sun shimmering off grains of sand.  While color is exciting, there's something equally intriguing about a monochromatic dress and I experimented with several different neutral colors to find the fabric that would let the bronze sequins take center stage. The linen materials used to build this dress are as natural as the sand they were meant to imitate and the end result feels so of the desert.  As far as the silhouette goes, my goal was to create a career dress that looked like it could have been bought at a fine store in 1963.

What sort of occasion would you attend wearing the Shimmer Dune dress?

  2. Oh my goodness! I am just loving all your dresses! I love the vintage feel, with short sleeves, high neckline, and hitting below the knee. And the extra shimmer in this one is so fun!
Have you decided how much you will be selling these for? :)

  3. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I think this could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion - perfect with heels for a cocktail party, wedges for brunch, or flats and a casual denim jacket for daytime... I'm in love!

  4. The color palette is beautiful, but I don't think I would buy this or the Bryce. Maybe I'm just not a fan of ensemble dresses. But I would be all over the Indus Valley dress all day! It would be great if you offered different silhouettes. You've done some killer makeovers (I've been a lurker of your blog for a while), and I'd love to see that variety in your collection.
