Life Bucket List #3: Visit all 50 states of America--Check
Uhh...wow. I can't even say how awesome this trip was. Everyone keeps asking me what Hawaii was like and all I can say is It's exactly as wonderful as you might imagine it to be.
It's an exotic clash of modern structures and wild, untamed mountain forests and as many colors of blue as there are beaches. I got to combine my sightseeing with helping an Army-wife friend fix up her house for her husband's return from his tour in Afghanistan so I didn't feel like a useless tourist the entire time (though I did shamelessly have my picture taken in front of every major landmark we came across, even the car). HA.
Highlights were tasting fresh pineapple at the Dole Plantation, the Samoan dude at the Polynesian Cultural Center (you rule, sir...very, very funny), Pearl Harbor (the atmosphere is so unbelievably monumental), pigging out on coconut shrimp too many times at the shrimp trucks in the historic town of Hale'iwa and the East Coast (I will long for another sight of you til the day I die).
Dreamy photos! Glad you had a great time!! I totally want to go back one day. :) (though I have like 30 states I should probably visit first).

ReplyDeleteWe went this summer and I feel like a part of me is still hanging on the beach, or eating at the shrimp trucks as well! A lovely lovely place to go.

Lovely place...I just love white and you look gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWe went to Hawaii for our honeymoon many, many years ago. It was beautiful! So glad you have completed that item on your bucket list. Impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat looks incredible and seriously, that food truck made my mouth water. Silly, I know! You look gorgeous and the vacation looks heavenly!
ReplyDeleteThat dress you are wearing in the first and last photo could so be renamed "Hawaiian breeze"!

All 50 states!? Kristina that's awesome!! That's one of my top bucket list goals for my life so I definitely think it's so awesome that you did that.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, which was your favorite one out of all of them?
Also, I am OBSESSED with that shirt. So cute.
Glad you had a wonderful time in my home state of Hawaii! I must admit, we're a bit spoiled. Not a day goes by that I don't grow tired of seeing the ocean. Our children grow up in the water. Oahu is a wonderful mix of urban jungle and laid back island style. My wardrobe consists of flowy dresses, beach sandals, a laid back vibe, and every once in a while, I get dressed up for a night out for a happy hour or two.
