After Nathaniel Book Trailer

Friday, February 17, 2012

Before signing a book contract I was unaware that books these days had their own little trailers. My publishing house released this last month...It's a visual way to see what the book is about and this pretty much condenses the pertinent information into a few sentences.

Have you lost someone close to you? Or do you know someone who has?  Obviously, this book was born out of difficult circumstances and I tried to be very real and transparent about the cycle of emotions a person experiences after loving and losing.  I'm trying to get my finger on the pulse of those who are buying the book and have wondered...
What compels a person to buy a book that deals with tragedy and healing?
Any thoughts?

  1. Wow!! This is amazing Kristina!! I was always awed by how beautifully you write but I didn't know you wrote books. I think I'm going to be ordering this book today. I lost my brother when I was 15 and lost my mother when I was 21....so dealing with loss and tragedy is something that I still deal with everyday. I can't wait to read this!!

  2. I think the reason people want to buy books about tragedy and healing is because EVERY SINGLE one of us have to deal with it. We are not given a choice. So we desperately cling to solutions and avenues to find healing since so many, many of us are in the throes of pain & chaos of loss...no matter how long ago it's been since our lives changed forever.
We put on our happy faces & smiles to the world because they don't want to hear anymore of our grief (After about a year, it's probably best not to talk about the pain we feel each and every day). But we know we'll never be the same again.

  4. This trailer is very powerful. It makes me really want to read your book. I agree with the others that we all experience loss and reading how others coped might help us.
