There are so many colors of leather available as well as brightly-colored suede strips, so you can really let your imagination run wild. I chose this bronze color because my braided tortoise headband was "accidentally" snapped in half by my daughter and I needed something to replace it. You can buy these cheap, metal headbands at the dollar store.
I braided 20 inches, then cut off what I didn't need.
