How To Stencil An Anchor's Aweigh Tee

Sunday, August 26, 2012

OK. Not gonna lie. Finally getting my very own Anchor's Aweigh tee? I die!
This project has been at the back of my mind for over a year, but for whatever reason, I couldn't ever get my hands on the elusive anchor stencil.  I fell in love with the Morgan + Milo shirt released for the Garnet Hill many, many months ago.  I'm so over the moon about this project. I can't quit making them....for my friends, for my family, even for strangers. It's gonna be like a giant explosion of cutsy-tutsy anchor tee's in my living room.
Seriously. It's that bad.

If you don't have a machine that will print shapes find a drawing on Google of an anchor you like. Print it and cut out the anchor shape, then retrace on card-stock or stencil paper and cut out the anchor so you're left with a stencil.
You could also make your own chiffon flower, but I was too lazy so I bought this little beauty from the girl's accessory section of Target. Not kidding. You'll have to remove the clip from the back, but otherwise, these little flowers work like a dream.
