I generally buy clothes for quality and use-ability rather than quantity; as a result, my wardrobe works very hard for me.
I never look at a piece and say,
"Well, that's too dressy for this event", or
"This piece will ONLY go with that".
I'm always trying to take what I've bought and
like Tim Gunn from Project Runway would say,
"MAKE IT WORK" for as many occasions as possible.
For example, these are a few of the ways I've multi-tasked
the Catmint Dress to get the most out of my money.
#1 WORK: MEETING AT FABRIC STORE
Catmint Dress worn as jumper.
J.CREW tuxedo button up blouse
LOFT double wrap belt
Seychelles Twisted Sandals
#2 PLAY: TRIP TO THE PARK WITH KIDS
Catmint Dress worn as skirt
J.CREW knit blouse
Ruche white Belt
Miz Mooz Green Flats
#3 WEEKEND: SHOPPING TRIP
J.CREW Boyfriend Cardi
J.CREW tube scarf
Anthropologie Looping Lanes Belt
Steve Madden Gladiators
COACH bag (hopefully with money in it!)
#4 CASUAL: LUNCH WITH FRIENDS
GAP Denim Shirt
Steve Madden Gladiators
Milkmaid Braids (curly girl just trying to survive the humidity!)
Obviously, everything I try doesn't always fly, but at the end of the day, if I've been able to do my job, have fun with my kids and still feel attractive and pulled together, then it's probably a look I'll end up repeating.
What about you?
Are you a re-wearer or not really?
