Wearing: Kimichi Blue

Thursday, September 23, 2010

I would not have normally picked a rain-soaked day
to be down on the river in
my brand new, very white, Kimichi Blue's...
however, I'd promised my son we'd go so he could skip rocks
and it was almost serendipitous in that I got to pull out
my visually adorable little umbrella from Old Navy.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining!
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all;
Into each life some rain must fall;
Some days must be dark and dreary.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

  3. I love the different outfits you've created with that skirt, especially this one! You seriously inspired me to get the skirt when I saw one left in my size in the sale room. Did you hem the skirt a bit to make the petticoat peak out more? I love the way it looks in your pictures.

  4. Oh wow Kristina. What delightfully dreamy photos! like straight out of an anthro catalogue!
    I've seen this skirt on you so many times, and each time is a different look! I snagged up this skirt on sale while in the UK - I actaully got it as I've seen you in it alot, and knew that it has endless possibilities!
    Thanks for sharing these pics
    Cheers

  6. Lori--I edit my photos in Picasa 3...such a fabulous program and the download is FREE!!! Can I get a Whoot-whoot?
    Courtnee--sooooo glad that crazy thing is fixed...can't wait to meet you
    Debbie--when I first saw this skirt in person, I was totally bowled over by the underskirt, I mean, how seriously awesome and pretty is IT? I actually lowered the ruffle of the underskirt to make it peek out like this, because I loved it so much, and just wanted to see more of it.
    Jen--can't tell you how envious I was of your trip to Paris. I visited there on a fly through several years ago...so magical...
    Andy--believe it or not, Reagan, my 4-year-old son takes all my pictures, so there's not a whole lot of planning to these things. I basically just move around and he snaps away. It makes him feel like a grown up, I think. But, I think he's doing a great job.

  8. I love how you are wearing (partially) white shoes in this outfit, and it still looks perfectly autumnal. What an ingenious pairing of colors. I love it -- and I hope your shoes survived!

  9. Jaime, the shoes are keepers! I even walked through mud, and they came clean.

  10. I too love how the petticoat shows and was wondering how you did it. But can you explain a bit more, please? Exactly How did you lower it? Did you cut it out and insert fabric? Or ???

  12. Plum--the underskirt has a ruffle sewn directly onto the lining...I just removed it and then sewed it back on a little lower so it would peak out from the bottom...no cutting required!!! Just a seam ripper...
