Good Evening, mah dears!
Sometimes I wonder what in the world I'm doin' over here. My taste is too kitchy to have a very good fashion blog. And my organization is about nil, so it's not a very good tutorial blog, either.
I'm constantly in limbo, wondering at my place in the blogosphere,
but this--the sewing--this I can do.
I'm smack dab in the middle of building some pieces with a black & white theme and
since getting my clothes into the hands of the general public (that being you) is the main idea around here, I wanted you to be able to vote on a look for one of the pieces.
I don't plan on directly recreating a dress, but I will use the dress with the most votes as inspiration for my own version, and hopefully, in the end, it will be obvious that I did.
If any of these dresses melt your heart, go ahead and have your say in the vote box on the sidebar, 'cuz ya just never know which pieces I'll end up offering your way!
1. Color Block
2. Satin Cutout
3. Fabric Origami
4. Feminine Military
5. Tuxedo
This is just a little teaser for the prettiness already completed. I'm going to wait to showcase all the pieces at once (as much as it's killin' me), but I promise to give you little hints every once in a while! =)
Girl, you are SO talented! I'd give anything to be able to make my own stuff. Wow! I especially love dresses 2 & 3.
ReplyDeleteOh Kristina, they're all gorgeous! How am I supposed to pick just one that I like the best?! I think, if you're absolutely forcing me, I'd pick the first as a favorite. It's so sweet and elegant (especially with the floral detail on the shoulder) and I can see you syling it in so many different ways!

4, too! Love the feminine take on a military dress. Actually, there isn't a piece that wouldn't wear.
ReplyDeleteLove 2!
ReplyDeleteI love #3!! I'm sure whatever you will be fab!!
ReplyDeleteLove #2 and #4 - I'd snatch both up in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteI love dress #3 for everyday and dress #2 for a night out! I would love to see dress #2 with a prettier contract fabric though, maybe a blue/gray tulle instead of the nude/blush.
ReplyDelete#3 is my favorite with #1 tying as a very close second. On option 1 I would switch the balck and white coloring so that the entire dress is black white white as an accent. :)
ReplyDeleteI love 1# 3# and 4#!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love 2 and 3! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the fabric oragami the best its black so it will be skimming and strait not to poofy and it has a bow on the shoulder that's just sooooo cute.
ReplyDeleteOops suppose to slimming not skimming....lol Sorry
ReplyDeleteLike the satin cutout. Very 'Gwen Stefani' I think. You've been busy! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are just soooo gorgeous! I'm falling in love with black and white again...so classic and classy! I am especially smitten with numbers 1 and 2!
ReplyDelete*Completing the second book now. I'm almost finished and I'll send them to Starbucks with Derek. I'll let you know in advance.
ReplyDeleteI love the Military and Tuxedo one :)
ReplyDeletesatin cutout!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like #2. Cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the tuxedo dress. Its cute and flirty! But that was a hard choice! Theyre all super cute!!
ReplyDelete3 or 5. Both fabulous retro,yet modern. I wish I could sew!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dresses. I vote for 3 & 4.
ReplyDelete#2 or #4. They are all so pretty though!
ReplyDeletethat satin cutout... girrrrl. that is just lovely. such an interesting twist on a classic shape! i just love it!
ReplyDeleteI adore dress number 2 but I also like the delicate bottom detailing on dress number one!
ReplyDeleteI like the military style dress. I like that it is an unusual combination- a typically structured style but in a flowy fabric. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be fabulous!
ReplyDelete#2
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to pick one, but I chose the Color Block dress...for my own selfish reasons. You see, I bought a similar chiffon dress is these gorgeous peachy tones from LOFT a few months ago. But for reasons beyond understanding, I returned it -- even though it was a steal at $20.99. I think I thought it was too short. And it was...but it could have been remedied with a frilly slip. So, I'm on the lookout for something similar, and this dress is even prettier than the LOFT version!
ReplyDeleteThe anticipation is killing me!!! I can't wait to see more of your designs. I love the new blog header btw!
ReplyDeleteLove and Rockets,
Lisa
#3 and 4
ReplyDeleteI'm for #3 and #4. they intrigue me so. And quite versatile. I CAN'T WAIT to see what you've been slaving over. I'm sure it will be nothing short of fabulousness. hang in there. You're so talented.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe i missed this post! I love #3 (Fabric Origami). It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePS - Noticed your new header - did you do that illustration...it's fantastic! I love it!
the satin cutout is a beut!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header! It's gorgeous and so unique.
ReplyDeleteWow, they are all so beautiful. I especially love the fabric cut out one :)
ReplyDeleteI voted for the one I thought would look best on ME. hehe Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteI love them all!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is #1 and by the way, I JUST LOVE YOUR NEW HEADER!!!! :) So cute. Hope you are doing well.

Pearl
My favorite is #1 - I think it is the most universally flattering. It is simple enough to dress down for day, and has enough details & creativity to dress it up. This dress says - don't just look at my dress :)
ReplyDeleteSatin cutout. Universal..can wear w/ jean jacket for day or wrap & Chanel like pearl in the evening. The perfect LBD. Summer w/flip flops, winter in tights & boots?
