It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally ready to introduce this collection of career dresses for spring 2012. This collection was inspired by silhouettes from the early 60's updated into styles that could go from work to evening. It's a collection that combines the soft flow of gently rolling sand dunes with tailored construction. I used the graduated colors of a desert sunset and stark contracts found in the multi-toned rock layer out West. Each of them are named after a specific desert or sand dune.
I sold most of the pieces from my last collection, but these pieces will be travelling with me to buyer's bazaars and festivals as I begin networking towards opening an online site. Enjoy the visual feast over the next couple weeks as I share the process of building this collection one piece at a time. Can't wait to see what you think...'cuz obviously, the whole idea of Kristina J. is to build pieces that are marketable in styles you'd want to wear when they become available. Thanks to everyone who participated in voicing their opinion for my next project. The clear winner of the Anthropologizing Reader's Choice was the Intelligencer Coat...so I'll be getting right on that...right after Christmas shopping and caroling and cookie baking and...and...and...
They look super cute!! I love how your going to be naming them after a desert or sand dune!! I can't wait to see them IRL!!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this. So excited!
ReplyDeleteI love your details, and the blushy pinks are so pretty, both desert-y OR dessert-y!
ReplyDeleteDo you watch Project Runway? You should audition for it...I think your clothes would be way too modest for them, but hey, you could put that $100,000 dollars to good use making modest clothes for girls like me! :)
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see it all, you are very talented, good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't WAIT to see that first one, but they all look pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! Congrats! And I totally feel the same about starting up new projects... right after I do just about everything else that has to be done right now! Too crazy!
