How To Make a Rhinestone Belt

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

The holiday season calls for a little extra something...that special addition of shine and bling essentially associated with the festive mood. This rhinestone belt tutorial can help you add some frosting to your holiday wardrobe. If you don't want to make the belt from scratch, you can always add the rhinestone detailing to an existing fabric or ribbon belt to get the same look.

To make this rhinestone belt, you will need sew on and iron-on rhinestones. My favorite website for crystal products is eJoyce.com, which has a large variety of rhinestones in sophisticated colors. For this belt, I used tear shaped and diamond shaped rhinestones in light colonial topaz.
I fit this portion of the belt to wrap my sides to the back. When you’re happy with the length, sew the pleats into place along the top and bottom.
Double check your fit of the belt on your waist and attach the anorak snaps according to the directions on the package and sew ends back to finish.
