Last time
I wore this dress was about forever ago. Back when the air was warm, the highlights were blond and about 100 other pleasant, summery memories that make me cry to think about now. The thought of putting heels on today made me cringe, plus, we've been hit with snow...
AGAIN, so I'm trying to lay off on shoes that could very likely get me killed if I stepped outside the house in them. I'm pretty sure I should get fashion points for smiling though, considering the circumstances. Cuz' like, there's absolutely nothing absurd about shopping for plastic Easter eggs while wearing winter rain boots.
Nothing at all.
I've lost all track of time. The landscape around here has been nothing but grays and whites and pale yellows for weeks. Had the blah nothingness not clouded my internal schedule, this would have been my Valentine's Day outfit. (I may or may not plan holiday outfits in advance.) I'm giving it the recognition it deserves today. So far, so good. I might also give Studhubs the recognition he deserves today as well. Just for good measure. HA.
YOUR TURN:
Are you a "holiday outfit planner"?
Anthropologie dress | Target cardigan | J.Crew coat | Tommy Hilfiger boots
LOFT tights + socks | Claire's headwrap | c/o Red Envelope watch
Four things I learned this week:
1) Snow will blind you, if you drive in it long enough.
2) It's awesome to have big snow-covered hills for the kiddos to slide down (now if only we owned some sled-like thingy for them to slide down the hills with).
3) Snow + freezing temps + no school boredom = lots of hot chocolate and games of ROOK (oh, and baby lions).
4) When you can't beat the weather, embrace it. The embracing thing is what I prefer, if you were wondering.
J.Crew Pencil skirt | GAP sweater and shirt | H/M coat | Target bag | Fossil Monica Pumps
To-Do:
--sleep in
--play chess with my son
--enjoy a big fat meal or a few :)
--lots of snuggles with the fam
--go ice-skating
--catch up on DIY refashioning
--worship my Savior
--have a cup of coffee with best friends
--have a holly jolly Christmas!
What about you? Any must-do's for the holidays? I wish you the very best and brightest of Christmas time!
I'm a little obsessive-compulsive and tend to think if a little bit of something is good, a whole lot might be better. Pretty sure that's not how it actually works, but I'm totally gonna roll with that philosophy on this outfit. HA.
